Wake & Bacon: Bitches Who Brunch Tell All

The following is an edited re-post from LYGO DC. [Note: This event now takes place at the Washington Firehouse]

Amanda Jean (aka Baby Bitch) writes for Bitches Who Brunch, a blog that explores the District’s rich brunch scene relays those experiences to Washingtonians. Named one of the “Best Blogs” by the Washingtonian, “Favorite Foodies” by the Washington Post’s DC Tweeps, and “Best Travel Blogs” by the Washington Flyer, Bitches Who Brunch has become the website Washingtonians turn to when they want to know where to brunch. And who can turn down bottomless mimosas?

Last Saturday, August 10, we were glad to have Amanda Jean in attendance for Wake & Bacon, LYGO DC’s weekly comedy brunch show at Shaw’s Tavern. She was kind enough to do a write up and enthusiastically shared her enjoyment of the comedy show with BWB readers. She loved all of the performers, saying specifically:

Sara Armour… immediately had us in stitches. Her bit on Disney Princesses had me slapping the table and wiping tears from my eyes.

Tashya Tummings took the stage next and kept the female comedian representation going strong. Her take on being a single lady in this economy was not only hilarious, but absolutely accurate.

Ryan Schutt was the next comedian to make us teary eyed and aching from laughter. He was absolutely hilarious and earned bonus points by making a cat joke (I like cats, okay?).

Brian Parise and Danny Rouhier wrapped up the show one right after the other and played off the audience like experts.

Overall, Amanda Jean rated the show very highly saying:

There was no doubt that the comedy was perfection: The lineup was excellent, and it was easy to see that they knew exactly what they were doing… I would absolutely recommend checking out a LYGO DC show… The Bitches say: A for the comedy.

A big thank you to Bitches Who Brunch and Baby Bitch for a great write-up and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

LYGO DC produces its weekly comedy brunch show called Wake & Bacon from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m every Saturday at Shaw’s Tavern (520 Florida Ave. NW).Shaw-Howard U Metro (Green/Yellow) for Shaw’s Tavern.
